Motivations

To think about my motivations is interesting. There are many things–tools–I don’t want to commit to using, since I’ve come to appreciate how different things can be more or less useful in different circumstances. However, if there is one thing I’m committed to, I’d have to say that it’s continually paying respects to the fact that thinking is an option for me.

When I mention “thinking,” I mean to include all actions that can be taken and used as a means for embodying mindfulness.

Perhaps I’m thinking too monogamously. I can’t deny that it’s possible for a person to commit to many things–many tools.

I’ve got to return to that incomplete essay I wrote back in my 2nd year in the College, “Being ‘tools’ of our tools.” Thank you, Dr. Fernandez, for your instruction and kindheartedness.
